Design Really Matters

Sometimes we spend so much time thinking about the complicated things that we forget to think about the really simple things…things which can make or break a business and which can mean the difference between a company just swimming and doing an amazing front crawl (rather than a lame doggy-paddle). One of these things, at least in my opinion, is design. It’s something we regularly overlook and it’s exactly what’s being discussed at this link: http://www.enigindesign.com/2010/05/20/why-design-is-important-to-enigin/
It’s a valid question: why is design so important and why does it have such a dramatic effect on sales and turnover? Well, there are lots of reasons (many more of which are mentioned at the article above) but one of the most important, of course, is that in order to market, say for instance, a financial advisor uk business successfully you have to first put people at ease and make them feel comfortable however you can. If you fail to do that then they aren’t likely to be spending too long looking around your website, and that matters in this day and age, with so many companies competing for the exact same audience and so much at stake.
Another reason why design is important is efficiency: bad design is confusing, annoying to look at, and generally just makes something that should be simple seem really complicated. And this is only the tip of the iceberg, have a read of the post for more and I’m sure you’ll be able to come up with a few reasons of your own.
